New Facility Development and Expansion Guides for Self-Storage Owners and Investors

A new whitepaper, published by online self-storage marketplace SpareFoot, was offered at the Online Self-Storage Developers Conference hosted by Inside Self-Storage (ISS) to guide facility owners and investors to developing and expanding their businesses. Entitled “How to Build, Buy and Expand with Confidence”, it examines the common mistakes related to self-storage real estate and development. The paper also provides tips on financing, feasibility, marketing, facility amenities, construction management and due diligence. “In the past few years, occupancy rates and real estate prices have soared. As the economy continues to improve, the demand for storage units is only expected to grow,” said SpareFoot CEO Chuck Gordon. “Still, competition is fierce. To successfully build, buy or expand requires thorough research, fact-based decisions and smart planning.”
About the Online Self-Storage Developers Conference
Hosted by ISS, the conference provided expert advice on facility construction, conversions and remodelling. It covered all aspects of development and expansion, from financing to boat and RV storage. The event was designed to be an online version of the Self-Storage Developers Conference produced by ISS in New York City last June. ISS has been publishing several articles related to development topics for the self-storage industry, including mistakes to avoid, interest rates and climate control. For nearly 25 years, they have provided informational resources through annual conferences and tradeshows, an online store, an extensive website and a large online community called Self-Storage Talk.
